What is the purpose of this event?
The events are supporting the consultation on “Raising Expectations: enabling the system to deliver”. They will give you a chance to learn more about the implications of the proposals on the delivery of 14-19 and post-19 provision. You will also have the chance to contribute to the debate and discuss the implications with other stakeholders within your region.
I can’t attend but one of my colleagues would like to attend in my place, is this OK?
You can transfer your invite to a colleague representing the same organisation or group. However, as we expect demand for places to be high, we must restrict numbers to one person per invitation. They will need the registration number provided on the invitation email in order to register.
I know of other people who would like to attend the event, but they have not received an invite.
Please contact raisingexpectations@liveevent-registration.com with their details, including the organisation/group they will be representing. There are a limited number of places and we expect demand to be high. However, we may be able to issue more invitations subject to availability.
I’d like to attend the event but I’m not available on that date.
You are likely to find it most useful to attend the event in your own region, as region-specific issues may be discussed. However, other events are taking place in the English regions. If you would like to attend a different event, please contact raisingexpectations@liveevent-registration.com for details.
Does it matter if I haven’t read the consultation document?
You will get more out of the event if you are familiar with the content of the consultation. Therefore, delegates are expected to have read the consultation or summary in advance of the events. The consultation document is available here: http://www.dcsf.gov.uk/consultations/conDetails.cfm?consultationId=1520
This link also includes a summary of the consultation.
Do I need to respond to the consultation if I have attended an event?
Yes. The event will not aim to answer the questions in the consultation document.
It is important to respond to the consultation even if you have attended an event.
Can I respond to the consultation if I have not attended an event?
Yes. You do not need to attend the event to respond to the consultation.
Will there be other opportunities in my area to discuss the implications of these proposals?
There will be other opportunities at regional and local level to have an input into discussions relating to the issues in the consultation. |
